On Saturday, July 19, I attended the information meeting for those considering running for City Council and Mayor positions in Dunwoody. One of the Citizens for Dunwoody members (can't remember his name) displayed a slide in which he had outlined the "major issues" that voters are interested in. The thought occurred to me that he was simply an individual voicing his own personal OPINION about the issues of concern to voters; and that no surveys or studies of the opinions of the majority of Dunwoody citizens had ever been conducted -- yet it was presented to proposed city officers as if it were factual. Furthermore, noticeably and blatangly missing from the list of concerns was SCHOOLS -- yet fixing our SCHOOLS (via eliminating overcrowding, via getting rid of apartments) was the #1 hot button issue promoted by the Citizens for Dunwoody as the key reason for cityhood. And one of the speakers even reiterated that Dunwoody will have NO CONTROL OVER SCHOOLS.
